APPLICATIONS are invited from voluntary, community and faith groups for funding from a scheme jointly funded by Waverley Borough Council and Surrey County Council adult social care directorate.

Haslemere’s Orchard Club benefits from funding that helps it provide a lunch club for older people.

Andrew Bolton, the borough portfolio holder for economic development, said: “I am delighted Waverley has maintained its funding budget of £744,530 to the voluntary sector since 2012.

“This year £85,540 has been allocated to provide funding through the voluntary commissioning partnership.

“Applicants will need to demonstrate the funding they are seeking is based on evidence and will deliver real results to help make a real difference to people’s lives.”

The deadline for applications is January 10.
