THERE was uproar among councillors during an almost two-hour south planning meeting at East Hampshire District Council's Penn Place headquarters last Thursday, when the proposed development of the land at Beaver Industrial Estate, the narrow strip along the railway line adjacent to the former OSU site and award-winning Sainsbury's development, was given the go-ahead subject to certain conditions.

Swiss-based firm Terranova Developments wants to build 20 houses, made up of eight, three-bedroom dwellings, 12 two-bedroom homes including affordable housing, accessed from Canada Way and one L-shaped business unit, accessed from the Beaver Industrial Estate along the Midhurst Road.
