A REVIEW of East Hampshire District Council-owned property and assets has turned the spotlight this week on the long-term future, not just of the council's own offices in Petersfield, but on buildings and services in Alton.

The review, which has already resulted in the disposal of the former Boy's Club in Nursery Road, now includes a proposal to dispose of an EHDC-owned parade of shops at Lipscombe Rise.

The proposal by EHDC Cabinet is based on the fact that only two of the three shops are currently occupied and, as such, may represent better value for money by disposing of them.
