A HASLEMERE-born man has brought home Britain's first ever Paralympic cycling medal when he scooped silver in the men's 1,000 metre time trial at the weekend in Sydney.

Blind tandem cyclist Robert Allen (40), who now lives in Bordon, and his able-bodied cycling partner Andy Slater, broke their own world record on Monday of one min 5.761 secs by .339 of a second.
