DOUBLE Paralympic champion Georgie Hermitage was the guest of honour at the Hogs Back Brewery’s hop harvest party.

Fresh from her gold medals in the T37 100m and 400m races, and silver in the T35-38 4x100m relay in Rio, Georgie joined her former employers and around 800 guests to celebrate the second successful harvest of heritage crop Farnham White Bine, fuggles and cascade hops.

Georgie, a mum-of-one from Binsted, worked for the Hogs Back for a number of years prior to her return to athletics, and according to the brewery is a “longstanding member of the Hogs Back family”.

The hop harvest party boasted live music from 3pm until late, sausages from Turner’s butchers in Aldershot, a bouncy castle and stocks, as well as green hopped beers - a traditional way to celebrate a successful hop harvest.

Hogs Back managing director Rupert Thompson also marked the occasion with a £7,500 donation to mental health charity Mind.
