THE Paris Peddlers have completed a 330-mile cycle challenge from London to Paris in aid of Action Medical Research, a children’s charity which funds research into a range of rare and disabling conditions affecting babies and children.

Parents Karen and Russell Brown, who own Tootsies Private Day Nursery in Farnham and whose 14-year-old son Sullivan suffers from asthma, completed the 19th Action London-Paris bike ride with three friends.

Karen, who was recently diagnosed with asthma herself, said: “The heat was unreal. It was just so hot but we powered on through and had an absolute blast with all the other riders and the event organisers! I’m really glad we did it!”

After the Paris Peddlers smashed their target of £6,800, Russell said: “Our fundraising total is now over £7,000 and we can’t believe it! We just want to thank everyone who kindly donated, it really means a great deal to us.”

The Peddlers joined around 50 cyclists who set off from London on July 25, before making their way through Kent, getting on a ferry to Dunkirk and then completing their ride in Paris on July 28.
