IN their fight to get a pelican crossing on the B3002 outside their estate, the residents of Heatherlands, in Headley Down, now have the backing of the parish council, whose members voted on Monday to support the cause.
Councillors agreed to write to Hampshire County Council's highways department to ask staff to consider installing a pelican crossing on the B3002, as well as improving the street lighting in Maple Way - the entrance to Heatherlands. They also stressed the need for another crossing in Beech Hill Road.
