AFTER serving as Milland Parish Council chairman for the last five years, Andy Coe has decided to step down, handing over the post to fellow councillor Peter Harvey.

Andy has shown pro-active and enthusiastic leadership right from the start, bringing a more strategic direction to the council. His first success was to facilitate the compilation and completion of the parish plan, which set out the longer term aims of the community.

Under his stewardship the council has also gained its quality status an award only granted to councils that satisfy a long list of requirements, developed a design statement.

Andy has very much taken a hands-on approach to help move the parish forward, and has worked to ensure all the major groups in the village are able to access funds to help them develop local amenities and infrastructure.
