FARNHAM Park and Frensham Great Pond and Common have been presented with prestigious Green Flag Awards and recognised as two of the best green spaces in the country.

The award now celebrating its 20th year recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

In order to win the coveted accolade the parks - which are all maintained by Waverley Borough Council’s Parks and Countryside Service, contractors and countryside volunteers - were inspected by judges who assessed the park’s safety, security, cleanliness, sustainability and maintenance.

It is the fourth time Farnham Park has won a Green Flag.
