TEENAGERS and adults will soon be able to swing from monkey bars and hop over hurdles at Farnham Park now the plan for the new trim trail has been selected.

Residents were asked to pick their favourite out of four shortlisted designs. The winner was by Flights of Fantasy, who also designed the new play area at Farnham Park.

The £25,000 trim trail will provide somewhere for teens and adults to exercise in the great outdoors and is being delivered with the help of the Personalisation, Prevention and Partnerships Fund.

It will be made up of a series of wooden equipment including a balance beam, stilt posts, traverse ropes, sit up benches, chin-up bars, a wobbly bridge, parallel bars, monkey bars, hurdles and much more.

Construction work will begin in spring 2016 and should finish in time for the summer.

Simon Thornton, Waverley’s portfolio holder for leisure and environment, said: “I am very excited about the winning design. It is going to look fantastic and there will be a range of equipment so people can get a full body workout in the beautiful surroundings of Farnham Park.”

Norfolk-based Flights of Fantasy’s design was chosen ahead of bids by Godalming company Eibe, Playdale from Cumbria and Nottingham playground specialists Proludic.
