ALTON councillors are determined to "fight to the end" in a bid to resist increased car parking charges which they believe could hammer "another nail in the coffin" of the town centre economy.
The town council is asking East Hampshire District Council to look at providing an "equitable system" with other areas in the district paying fees rather than the burden falling solely on Alton and Petersfield.
