WAVERLEY made £3.18 million from its parking operations and came 63rd in the rankings for local authorities in England, according to the 2016 to 2017 report by RAC Foundation published this week.
Over the year, the 353 local authorities had a total income from on-street and off-street parking activities of £1.582 billion, which is up six per cent year-on-year.
A Waverley spokesman said: “The net total we receive from supplying car parking services firstly helps to fund car park improvement projects then secondly helps to pay for other council services, including recycling, refuse collection, street cleaning, public conveniences, recreational open space, and countryside.”
