MUCH of a beauty spot between Liss Forest and Whitehill could be off limits to the public until the end of the year.

The Ministry of Defence has closed a large section of Longmoor between the A3, Wylds Farm and Warren Hill to the public for the foreseeable future.

The car park area, Weavers Down and Longmoor Inclosure are among the areas now out of bounds for walkers and cyclists.

The MoD has closed the area to assist a “partner nation”, suggesting Ukrainian troops are being trained on the ranges. The closure is likely to remain in place until December 2023 but the timeframe is subject to change.
