A HARD-working group that brought jubilation to Petersfield have received a massive pat on the back from town councillors.
Several councillors thanked Vaughan Clarke and the diamond jubilee committee on Monday for organising the successful bank holiday festivities.
Thousands of people crammed into The Square and flocked to the Heath on June 5 as the town marked 60 years of the Queen's reign. Highlights included a vintage car rally, the burying of a time capsule, live music, a lantern procession, and a blazing tribute to Her Majesty on the pond.
Petersfield mayor Mary Vincent and councillor Bill Organ were among the councillors who thanked organisers at Monday's meeting.
