YOUNGSTER Arthur Boxall from Farnham cycled more than 18 miles across the Camel Trail in Cornwall, raising a total of £1,481 for the Help4Harry campaign and Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Six-year-old Arthur cycled 18-and-a-half miles from Wenfordbridge to Padstow in just under three hours alongside family members - four miles more than last year at age five.

Upon arrival in Padstow the fatigued cyclists regained their energy as they were treated to pizza, chips and lemonade (and beer for dad) by Rojanos Restaurant.

His father, Alex, commented prior to the current total raised: “We are so proud of him, he did brilliantly.

“It was a beautiful sunny day and we were joined by friends in Wadebridge who cycled the last six miles with us. Amazingly he did that part in 40 minutes and we were all struggling to keep up.

“We have had amazing support both locally in Farnham and also down here in Cornwall. Arthur was on Radio Cornwall, quite the celebrity.”

The Help4Harry campaign aims to raise awareness and funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the campaign set up by family members came about after Harry Barnley a pupil at Weybourne Infants School, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy - a rare and life-limiting degenerative disease - in June 2013.
