THE safety of a pedestrian crossing opposite Boots in Farnham came under the spotlight this week after a charity collector raised concerns about the lack of time given for people to cross.

Peeps into the Past: Castaway Christmas for Tilford's own Robinson CrusoeGraham Frith, who regularly pitches up outside Boots on The Borough to raise money for a number of charities, has witnessed at firsthand the dangers posed to pedestrians, and particularly pregnant, disabled or elderly people, by the crossing.
He says the crossing gives people just eight seconds to cross three lanes of otherwise busy, fast-moving traffic, which he believes "isn't long enough and will result in someone getting killed if it remains this way".
