Farnham Road Club's 10-mile championship was incorporated into the Tuesday evening event on the Bentley-based course last week.
Heavy rain earlier in the evening deterred many riders and the entry of 15 was the lowest for many weeks. The rain held off, but a gusty wind facing the riders made the first five miles difficult.
The winner and club champion in 23mins 21secs (equal to his personal best) was Rob Pennell, adding to his success in the recent 25-mile championship.
Runner-up was Mike Clutton (Charlotteville CC), a rider theoretically quicker than Pennell, but not last Tuesday!
Andy Weller (Farnham RC) recorded a personal best 23-51 to take second place in the club championship and Rob Clark also improved to 24-05 for third spot.
Weller has been training and riding on the tandem with Robert Allen and is now reaping the benefit of his hard work.
Other Farnham times: Ian Howard 24-29, Adam Bell 24-58, Jim Parker 25-06, Michael Rice 25-52, Deane Cross 26-12, David Campbell 26-27, Natalie Lejeune 28-00, James Boyman 28-49, Deana Dibnah 30-52.
Andy Weller, when not chasing club championship medals, is 'on a mission' with Robert Allen to beat all the existing club tandem records, many of which have stood for years.
They rode the North Hants CC 50-mile event and finished in 1hr 59mins 26secs, a narrow beating of the time set in 1954 (1-59-48) by C Stone and G Pound. This is a great achievement for Weller, who is in his first season of tandem racing.
The pair hope to beat the 25-mile record before the end of the season.
