THE fate of East Hampshire District Council's headquarters at Penns Place could be decided within months.

A draft report has been received on the value of the Petersfield site which could spell the end of the 1970s building.

Last year Savills were asked to access the market value of the site and come up with a list of options.

A spokesman for EHDC said: "We have received a draft report and are still working with the consultants on the detail of some aspects."

With the results of the report not likely to be made public and with a decision expected in the spring, rumours are growing that the building could be demolished and the land sold for housing.
