A FARNHAM pensioner was dragged along the floor by a thief outside Sainsbury's in Water Lane after refusing to let go of her handbag which he stole after struggling with her.

She was then dragged for some distance by the thief before he broke free from her. A security guard at the store witnessed the incident. He chased after the man but was unable to catch him.
The guard saw him get into a red Ford Fiesta which had two occupants. Police described the thief as white, 5ft 10, of slim build and in his early 20s.
He had short brown hair which was brushed back and was wearing a brown top, tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers. The woman involved suffered bruising to her wrist and swelling to her legs.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident which happened on Saturday, March 15, at 5-30 pm. If anyone has any information contact Farnham Police on (01252) 71626.
