ALMOST 50 organisations, including businesses, colleges and universities, attended Weydon School’s careers evening on Wednesday last week.

There were almost 650 attendees, more than 230 of which were Weydon students.

The school has received feedback from the exhibitors, with David Wales from Farnborough College of Technology saying “it was a great event and there was definitely a buzz and enthusiasm from parents and pupils”.

Simon from The Flying Colour Company added: “Keep up the great work, you must be so pleased at how well attended last night was, it must have been a lot of work well done.”

A spokesman for Supermassive Games said: “Busiest we have ever been, didn’t stop all night and far more girls came to our stand than ever.”

There were also comments from parents, one of whom is in financial services and was “amazed at the calibre of organisations attending”.

Another parent thanked Alison Molan, the school’s careers co-ordinator, for “inspiring her daughter and couldn’t believe the range of companies attending”.

Parents have offered to help at future events and “enjoyed the opportunity of finding out more about apprenticeships”.
