NEARLY 2,000 residents packed Haslemere High Street on Saturday to voice fierce opposition to plans by West Surrey Health Authority to close all 30 beds at Haslemere Hospital.

They were there to support a bed push organised from the hospital and to see Haslemere Town Mayor Fay Foster present a petition signed by 12,000 people to WSHA chief executive Jenny Griffiths and Surrey Hampshire Borders Trust chief executive Anne Williams.
