THIS June there’s an exciting new event to look out for – the Farnham Flash Festival, a whole month of performances every day.

Featuring soloists, choirs, musical theatre, musicians and bands, opera, dance and drama and the spoken word there’s bound to be much that will appeal to everyone, whether they’re residents or visitors.

The aim of the festival is to highlight the wealth of performance that Farnham has going on, to raise awareness, to grow audiences, to help local businesses by increasing footfall, and generally to have fun.

Shows could happen at any time of day, and in a variety of locations – in the Lion and Lamb Yard, at Weydon School’s new Medici Theatre, in churches, and at the Maltings.

The programme is getting full but there are still gaps the festival would love to fill. Any performer or company looking for an opportunity to publicise their work should first check out which gap suits them online at www.farnhamflashfesti

val.org.uk/calendar.

The festival is on the lookout for venues too. Anyone with a potential venue such as a cafe, pub, shop, a bar, a conference room, a foyer, a hall or anything similar, would find hosting a performance could really give their business a boost. It will show up on the festival website and in its brochure, and generate footfall and interest as the flash festival brings audience in.

Anyone wanting to be part of this new event – whether as a performer or a venue, can register online at www.farnhamflashfestival.org.uk.

It’s a simple process which will get the ball rolling towards full participation in the programme at a place, date and time to suit.

The festival brochure will go to print in April, so for inclusion in that, it’s important that people get in touch soon. The copy deadline is April 6.

The month of celebratory performances is being facilitated by Performers Together, a community interest company, and is sponsored by Farnham Town Council.
