PROPOSALS by the Forestry Commission to establish the Bourne Woods as a permanent movie site, with filming up to eight months of the year, have been revealed in an application to Waverley Council.
The prospect has alarmed close neighbours of the woods, who after more than a decade of accepting occasional filming largely without complaint, fear more sustained disturbance and disruption of access rights.
In one letter of objection to Waverley Council, a resident of Clumps Road has written of suffering day and night from noise, for instance from helicopters and the alarms of lorries reversing, from smoke, smells and the closure of public rights of way.
