PETERSFIELD Town notched up their best result of the season against fourth-placed Poole on Saturday and kept their recent revival on track.
A first half hat-trick from John Bristow and another solid display at the back combined to give Town a memorable victory.
It took the home side just five minutes to stamp their authority on the game, with Bristow punishing Poole's defensive frailty.
But it was not all plain sailing for Petersfield, who went into the match having taken seven points from their last three games, and Poole equalised in the 27th minute.
Town bounced straight back and Gavin Keogh scored almost from the restart to restore the lead.
Town continued to dominate and put the game beyond Poole's reach before half-time.
Bristow made it 3-1 in the 34th minute and completed his quickfire hat-trick a minute later.
In the second half, with the three points all but in the bag, Petersfield were happy to sit back and hit Poole on the break.
The visitors kept pushing, but never looked like getting back into to the game.
Petersfield now look forward to their away clash with strugglers Hythe & Dibden on Saturday, eager to build on their current run of good form.
COMBINATION: DIV II
Pirelli Res 2, Petersfield Res 2. Town Reserves fought back well to earn a share of the spoils against Pirelli on Wednesday last week.
Petersfield dominated the first half, playing some good football, but failed to capitalise on their chances.
The second half was a different story. Petersfield gave away a silly free-kick on the edge of the box and Pirelli took full advantage to take the lead.
And it was a case of déjà vu for Petersfield when they conceded another free-kick in the same spot with exactly the same result.
But Petersfield manager Richard Archbald said he was proud of his side for keeping their heads up.
The turning-point came in the 80th minute with a double substitution that saw John Waite and Rob Blake come on for Town.
The change reaped immediate reward when Waite pulled one back in the 85th minute.
And it was all smiles in the last minute when 16-year-old Luke Bishop surged through and saw his cross-cum-shot hit the back of the net.
Archbald said: "We got a well deserved point, but I'm a bit disappointed we didn't take all three given the way we played."
