There were fears that when Petersfield Physic Garden lost its gatekeeper, it would have to shut its doors.

But thanks to the problem being highlighted in the Petersfield Post, the problem has now been resolved.

The response to the appeal demonstrated a great love for the garden from so many people who offered to help.

A rota has now been established of willing volunteers who are prepared to open and close the gate to the garden which provides a welcome green oasis in the town centre.

By sharing the load of the daily task, the volunteers have ensured the garden will now be able to remain open.
