A REDUCED grant of £15,500 was given to the Phoenix Theatre - because Whitehill Town council were worried they could be acting illegally if the whole grant was given.
The Barbados House Association had asked for a grant of £17,000 but councillors were unsure whether the extra money - about £1,500 - would just stay in the association's bank account accumulating interest.
