THERE’S still time to join the Phoenix Players for their annual pantomime.

Performances of Robin Hood got underway on Thursday but run until January 26 at the Phoenix Theatre.

Audiences are invited to join Robin Hood on a thrilling quest to outwit the evil Sheriff of Nottingham, with help from his trusty band of Merry Men.

This version has been written by local theatre producer Joshua Dixon, who said: “Robin Hood features all the ingredients of a perfect panto. The show promises laugh-out-loud comedy, bundles of audience participation, toe-tapping numbers, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses.”

The legend of Robin Hood, an English outlaw who robbed from the rich to give to the poor, dates back to the 13th century. The theme tune from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves – (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams – spent a record 16 weeks at number one in 1991.
