YOUNGSTERS from Petersfield Infant School had an "enjoyable" afternoon picnic at The Heath on Wednesday before breaking up for the summer holidays.

Staff and pupils from the St Peter's Road school were joined by parents for lunch, a play, and a walk around the Heath pond.

Deputy headteacher Ruth Kenny said: "It was a trally really lovely picnic, and the children behaved themselves beautifully. It was great to see so many parents come along to enjoy it with us."

She added: "There was a lovely atmosphere all day, and it was a nice end to the year."
