JIGSAW enthusiasts were out in force as St Mary’s Church in Frensham, hosted its second Jigsaw Festival, raising more than £1,100 to help restore part of the 15th century church tower.

Churchwarden Eunice King said: “The event went remarkably well. We had hundreds of puzzles donated and this time included board games as well to keep people busy and entertained during the dark winter evenings that are approaching.

“We were overwhelmed by people’s generosity and can’t thank them enough. People came from as far away as Norfolk.

“It was a great fun day and the more experienced jigsaw fans were queuing at the door to rummage out the more rare and interesting puzzles. We really didn’t realise how popular jigsaws are, in fact we have all now got the bug.”

The St Mary’s Church bell-ringers made the day even more perfect by carrying out a challenging quarter peal during the morning.
