MORE than 150 bus cuts campaigners packed into the Methodist church hall in Weyhill last week to voice their concerns directly to Haslemere Town Council.

Also listening to the strong objections raised to Surrey's proposals for major cutbacks to local services was Waverley Borough Council leader Robert Knowles and Haslemere councillor David Munro, who sits on both the borough and county councils.

The public consultation on the Surrey Bus Review – aiming to save £2.5million – closes on January 31 and in Haslemere it proposes axing routes numbers 18, 70, 71, 504 and 505, and retaining just the Nos. 19 and 59.
