THERE are only days left to give your views on Waverley’s draft Local Plan.
The document, which identifies strategic sites for housing, employment and mixed use development in the borough, includes key policies and an overall strategy for managing and directing future development in Waverley up until 2032.
The Local Plan put out for public consultation until early next month, outlines up to 10,000 houses built across the borough in the next 16 years. It includes 2,600 new properties at Dunsfold, 2,330 in Farnham, 1,520 in Cranleigh, 1,245 in Godalming, 830 in Haslemere plus around another 1,000 in neighbouring villages.
The strategic policies cover a range of topics including leisure, culture, the rural environment, transport, affordable housing, infrastructure and community services.
Borough planning member councillor Brian Adams said: “This is your chance to have your say on the final draft of the plan before it goes to the planning inspector.
“You can make general comments about the plan, but at this stage Waverley is keen to receive specific feedback in relation to: whether the plan is legally compliant with planning regulations, whether it has been positively prepared, it is effective and is justified and whether the plan has complied with the legal duty to co-operate - engaging constructively, actively and on an ongoing basis.”
The document is available to view and download on the Waverley website. Hard copies can be viewed at the council offices in Godalming, all public libraries and at the Farnham Locality Office.
Residents and interested parties should send their representations by either logging onto: www.consult.waverley.gov.uk, emailing [email protected] or writing to: Planning Policy, Waverley Borough Council, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR, before 5pm, on Monday, October 3.
The plan will then be submitted for examination by an independent planning inspector in November.
