WAVERLEY Borough Council has deferred publication of its Local Plan Part 2 after complaints by councillors that the planning blueprint has been “rushed”.
An item on the council’s executive and full council agendas for October 31, which sought approval to publish Waverley’s Local Plan Part 2: Site Allocations and Development Management Policies, will instead be considered at future meetings, the dates of which are yet to be confirmed.

Explaining the decision to defer the item, Julia Potts, council leader, said: “Councillors want the council to have more time to engage with the local community...including further work on site allocations and gaining further feedback from key stakeholders.”
