DUNSFOLD Park, seen by many as the key to avoiding widespread greenfield development in Farnham, has submitted new information as part of its application to build 1,800 new homes at the aerodrome south of Godalming.

It comes after Waverley Borough Council decided at the end of May to delay to delay a decision on the proposal for the borough’s largest brownfield site, following several requests for further information from a number of statutory consultees.

To-date, 1,975 people have written to the council objecting to the application while 333 - including Farnham Town Council and The Farnham Society - have written in support.

A Waverley spokesman said: “Dunsfold Airport Ltd and Rutland Ltd have submitted, to the council, new information as part of their planning application WA/2015/2395.

“This additional information is subject to consultation to allow all interested parties and statutory consultees the opportunity to comment further on the planning application.

“The council’s website (www.waverley.gov.uk) has been updated listing the new information provided and the consultation timescales.”

The updated documents comprise a new “site-wide” travel plan, transport assessment and an arboricultural impact assessment, as well an addendum to the plan’s environment statement including an updated flood risk statement and sustainability statement.

These can be commented on until October 7 online at www.waverley.gov.uk/planning under reference WA/2015/2395, ahead of a likely meeting of Waverley’s joint planning committee to determine the application in late October/November 2016.
