FARNHAM Town FC has at long last been granted retrospective planning permission for a new car parking area at the Memorial Ground in West Street.
The ‘additional temporary hard surface’ was constructed in partnership with the club’s landlords Waverley Borough Council last year - but without first securing the necessary planning consent.
Waverley was subsequently forced to apply, red-faced, to itself for retrospective permission - and secured the consent of its western planning committee on June 7.
The temporary car park forms part of Farnham Town FC’s permanent move from the adjacent Farnham Memorial Hall, which is being redeveloped to provide a new health and well-being centre.
