PLANNING permission has been granted for nine new homes on the former Park School playing field in St James Avenue following its sale by charity Challengers.
Developer Shanly Homes was granted full planning permission for its proposed mix of two, three and four-bedroom two-storey houses on the 0.7 acre site by planning officers on February 2.
The homes will front onto Adams Park Road with a ‘parking courtyard’ to the rear accessed from St James Avenue.
Challengers has previously reassured service users and parents the sale of the land will not affect its play centre for disabled children, which it has operated from St James Avenue since 2007.
The application attracted 26 letters of objection, including one from the Farnham Society, citing harm to neighbouring properties, parking and traffic concerns.
