REVISED plans for five new homes on the old HSS Hire Shop, in St Christopher’s Road, Haslemere, have gone to appeal.

Waverley planners turned down the application in July on the grounds it would be overdevelopment. They considered the scheme lacked architectural detail and failed to preserve the prevailing character of the area.

They also objected the building works threatened a protected Tulip tree and the scheme did not have enough parking spaces, resulting in more on-street parking.
