A DEVELOPER embroiled in a row with Churt residents over its mobile home park on the outskirts of the village has offered an olive branch to the community, in the form of sponsorship for charitable causes in the area.
Countrywide Park Homes, which owns and operates the ‘Frensham Country Park’ in Symondstone Lane, says it has a “great history” of donating a percentage of the profits from its portfolio of parks to charity.
This began with The James Barney Foundation, which was founded by the company’s directors to help young people after a tragic car accident resulted in the death of their 16-year-old son James Barney.
Using a percentage of the money made in sales of properties at Frensham Country Park and other sites, Countrywide Park Homes is looking to sponsor local charities or causes that are seeking funding to achieve their goals.
Jonathan Harvey, a partner at Countrywide Park Homes said: “This is a really exciting scheme for us and we are looking forward to working with some great causes in the local area, using money raised from Frensham Country Park.
“We have a great history of supporting charities and raising money for good causes, and I see this as the perfect opportunity to continue that work.”
