DEVELOPER Bewley Homes has submitted revised plans for 96 new homes in the countryside between Farnham and Folly Hill.

The amended application, on fields south of Upper Old Park Lane, includes 38 ‘affordable’ dwellings, areas of open space, children’s play areas and a new mini-roundabout connecting the development to Folly Hill.

It will be determined by an appeal inspector appointed by the Secretary of State, after Waverley Borough Council rejected the developer’s initial plans for 102 homes on the site last September.

More than 560 people objected to Bewley’s plans last year, submitted in partnership with landowner Catesby Estates.

Both Bewley and Catesby are involved in a judicial review challenge against the Farnham Neighbourhood Plan, which excludes the development site as a suitable location for housing.
