BEACON Hill residents are celebrating this week after plans to erect a 12m telecommunications mast in the centre of the village have been turned down by Waverley Borough Council.
The application for the mast, which would have been sited at the junction of Beacon Hill and Churt Road, was submitted last month by mobile phone operator Mercury One to One.
