WHITEHILL and Bordon Gardening Club’s annual plant sale drew in people on Saturday to see, and buy, this season’s best.
The event was held at the Forest Community Centre, in Bordon.
“This year’s sale went very well,” said club chairman Stephen Miles.
“Many of the members contributed their gardening expertise by donating to the club large numbers of young bedding plants, vegetable plants and surplus plants of many types for the annual club sale of plants to the public, members and friends.
“Other members helped, as usual. with laying out the tables, pricing the plants and cleaning up afterwards.”
Mr Miles praised the “initiatives and enthusiasm” of the club’s deputy chairman Michael Rutland, “who hopefully will become the new chairman at our annual meeting next February”, when Mr Miles retires after 10 years of leading the club.
With the help of Dick Grinter, Mr Rutland provided a raffle and sold refreshments to the public.
