KEEN gardeners who can tell their roses from their rhododendrons, those who struggle with knowing what shrubs to place in the garden or those who require advice, Phyllis Tuckwell is here to help.

The hospice care charity holds plant sales on the first Sunday of every month, from May to October, to raise money to fund the supportive and end of life care which it offers those facing cancer, or other serious progressive illnesses. Many plants are donated just prior to a sale, so that the charity often has hundreds to offer on the day, at very reasonable prices.

Go to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Waverley Lane ,to see the display of plants which are on sale every day, from small bedding plants to large shrubs and even sometimes trees, whether you’re searching for the right plant, or just any plant, this is the place to come.

Get your autumn off to a green start by coming along to the hospice’s next monthly plant sale on Sunday, September 6. And make a note in your diary for Sunday, October 4, as the last plant sale of the year will include a winter clearance, where all plants are sold as ‘buy-one-get-one-free’.
