WORK on the new play area at Oast House Crescent in Farnham has been completed following a £30,000 upgrade by Waverley Borough Council.
The play area is now open so children can enjoy a range of new equipment, including swings, a wooden log walk, a wooden rope weaver and a climbing unit with a slide.
Local parents selected the natural looking play area design, by Playdale, after being invited to pick their favourite out of three options in November last year.
Jenny Else, portfolio holder for health, well-being and culture, said: “I think the new play area looks great.
“We know the equipment will be well used as it was selected by our local residents, it’s fantastic to be able to give them what they wanted to see in their own community.
“Play areas are a fantastic way to get children to socialise and be active outdoors in the fresh air. Now the weather is warming up for spring, I hope to see it being enjoyed by lots of children.”
