NEWMAN Collard Playing Field Trust in Liss has secured a £75,000 grant from Biffa Award to replace its 30-year-old play equipment with new innovative and exciting equipment.
Liss Parish Council will contribute additional cash towards the scheme.
The new park has been designed to be accessible and multi-functional. The park will include a diverse range of equipment to promote imaginative play. The park’s layout has been specifically designed to encourage a high level of social interaction.
The old facility will close while the new equipment is installed. Work is due to start on September 18, and it is hoped the new facility will open by the October half term.
Dorothy Collard, chairman of the trust, said: “The trust’s aim is to enhance village life in Liss. This award, coupled with funding from Liss Parish Council, will allow us to transform the dilapidated play park. Our ambition is to create a space for children of all ages and abilities and their families.”
