THE need for urgent repairs to be carried out to the footpath on the corner of the main car park in Haslemere High Street has been highlighted by town councillor Mark Lelliott this week.

Former town mayor Mr Lelliott is pressing for action to be taken after an elderly woman tripped on the pavement outside the HSBC bank last Friday and fell into the road.

Waverley area engineer for Surrey County Council, Graham Hodgson, said that a programme of maintenance work had been drawn up in relation to the loose cobbles in the High Street.
