YOUNGSTERS at St Mary’s Infant School in Frensham were left fascinated after hearing the story of parent Roberto Canenti’s trek to the North Pole.
Mr Canenti gave a presentation of photographs on Monday, February 25, as well as showing the students some of the equipment he needed during the trek.
Children learnt about the importance of team work and the determination and training needed to accomplish such an adventure.
Jennifer Downing, headteacher at St Mary’s Infant School, said: “We are very grateful to Mr Canenti for coming in to talk to us.
“It brings the curriculum alive to hear directly from people who have been to amazing places.
“We are fortunate in having parents at St Mary’s who have done such interesting things.”
n Students at St Mary’s Infant School are set for a busy month in March. As well as taking part in World Book Day on March 7, they will be welcoming a local children’s author on March 8, and taking part in Farnham Music Festival on March 27.
