ALTON Police have made four arrests for drugs offences in just over a week, in a number of isolated incidents.
The first occurred on the evening of Sunday, June 15, when a vehicle was stopped near the Butts for failing to show rear lights.
The driver was searched, and nothing was found on his person, but a golf ball-sized package of a suspected Class A drug was found under the nearside front seat.
When the passenger was searched, he was found to be in possession of a ÔcrackÕ pipe.
Two further arrests were made on Monday, June 23, the first happening at around 2-50 am. A car was stopped at Hedge Corner on the A32, and during a search of the vehicle, a small amount of cannabis was found in the driverÕs door pocket. A man was arrested.
Then at 7-50 pm on the same day, police stopped a suspect in Rack Close Road, and a small wrap was found in a plastic money bag nearby. The man was arrested on suspicion on possession of a Class A drug.
The final arrest happened in Butts Road at 5-25 pm on Thursday, June 26, when a man was seen to be passed an item by a known drug dealer. When the buyer was searched, he was found to be in possession of two wraps of cannabis.
