A PRIVATE party erupted in violence outside Hale Working Men's Club in Upper Hale Road in the early hours of Saturday morning. Patrol officers from Surrey and Hampshire, together with two dog units, ARV response units and a police helicopter were deployed to deal with what police described as "a large fight" involving about 50 people. Party-goers reportedly tussled with officers as the incident spilled into the car park of the Tesco Express store at around 1am. A number of people and at least one officer were injured and four men are currently on bail helping police with enquiries.  West Surrey police are asking for help from members of the public who have information about the incident. Dc Russell Cannon said: "Surrey Police will not tolerate this type of violence on our streets and I would urge anyone who has any information relating to the incident to contact me as soon as possible at Farnham Police Station." Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Dann said: "This was an isolated incident following a private party and I would emphasise to the community that police were quickly on the scene where they took control of the situation, making a number of arrests.  "If any member of the public can help with further details relating to the incident they can contact Surrey Police or Crimestoppers anonymously." Anyone with any information is asked to call Dc Cannon on 01483 639800, quoting reference WV/ 08/1644.  Alternatively calls can be made anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555111.
