POLICE attended Millers Kitchen at just after 7 pm last Thursday in response to a "large-scale public order incident". The incident occurred at the eatery, situated at Holt Pound on the A325, with a 47-year-old man from Horley suffering serious injuries before being taken to Frimley Park Hospital. Four men were arrested in connection with breaching public order. Three Woking men, aged 20, 22, and 41, were arrested and issued with a fixed-penalty notice for public order. A 66-year-old man, also from Woking, was arrested and issued with a caution. No formal complaint was made by the injured man, who has since been released from hospital. "Until a complaint is made there is no further investigation at this time," said a Hampshire Police spokesman. One eyewitness told The Herald: "I had a couple of friends I was going to be meeting after work, but they told me the restaurant had been closed due to storm damage. Obviously I don't think they got into the building," said one. "But as they were walking away through the car park, they saw people talking loudly and dressed in suits." "I drove past there about an hour and a half later and there were probably about 10 police cars outside. They had closed the car park and the building was shut off. There were police everywhere," he added. And another said: "A friend and I got to the door at about 5-15 pm, and there was a sign saying 'closed due to storm damage'. Apparently there was a travellers' wake there and it all kicked off," she continued. A spokesman for The Spirit Group, owners of Millers Kitchen, said: "We can confirm there was an incident at the pub which the police attended and we are helping them with their investigation."
