POLICE were called on to break up a ‘rave’ in the Rowledge area on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a number of calls from residents that a group of ‘about 200 teenagers’ were drinking alcohol and behaving in an anti-social manner in the Boundstone Road area.

The youths were dispersed and officers remained in the area to monitor the situation. No offences were reported and no arrests were made.

One homeowner did report via Facebook, however, that a flower pot on a charity plant stall had been “kicked in”, while another claimed they had an acer tree stolen.

Responding to a post on the ‘Farnham Rants’ page, numerous members of the group offered to donate the value of the flower pot, £5, to chosen charity Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, as well as new plants to replace it.

Neighbourhood officer Pc Will Davies said: “We received several calls from local residents about a large group of youths who were behaving rowdily and causing a nuisance.

“Our officers attended the location and were able to disperse the youths before any criminal offences were committed.

“We will continue our patrols in this area and would urge members of the public to continue reporting any kind of anti-social behaviour in their local communities to us.”
