DETECTIVES have launched a major investigation following the death of a woman at a house in Liss.

Police have confirmed that a 74-year-old man was arrested and released on bail last Friday morning following the death of Helen Brown.

The body of the 71-year-old woman was discovered at a property on Hill Brow Road after neighbours raised the alarm just before 8am.

Witnesses have reported seeing a frenzy of police activity at the address with vehicles from all three emergency services in attendance.

But mystery surrounds the circumstances of the death, with the police describing the event as an "isolated and tragic" incident.
